Do you like to travel? How about to fly?
Feeling anxious before a flight is a common experience for many people.
1. Practice deep breathing: Take a few deep breaths and focus on your breath. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this for several minutes until you feel calmer.
2. Listen to calming music or a guided meditation: Listening to soothing music or a guided meditation can help relax your mind and body. You can download these types of audio files onto your phone or music player and listen to them with headphones.
3. Try progressive muscle relaxation: Tense and then relax each muscle group in your body, one at a time, starting with your toes and working your way up to your head. This technique can help release tension and reduce anxiety.
4. Distract yourself: Bring a book, magazine, or puzzle with you to the airport to keep your mind occupied. You can also watch a movie or TV show on your phone or tablet during the flight.
5. Use positive self-talk: Remind yourself that flying is a safe and routine activity. Focus on positive thoughts and affirmations, such as "I am safe and in control."
6. Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine and alcohol: Drinking enough water can help you stay hydrated and calm. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can increase anxiety and dehydration.
